Walking in as a freshman, I never thought I’d be here today. From freshman year starting out in masks and a hybrid schedule, I did not think I was going to have a normal high school with Covid being a big issue. When I look back on high school, I think about all of my great friends, sporting events, band activities, and memories I have made over the years. I would not change anything about my high school years. High school has taught me so many things that I will keep with me for the rest of my life.
I never believed in “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” High school has gone by so fast but there is not anything I would change about it. Over the years, I have tried new things like tennis, bowling, soccer managing, marching band, friends of freshman, and newspaper.
Walking into the journalism lab, I did not know what I was getting myself into. I was a very quiet person who did not talk to many other people, but newspaper has made me more aware of things going on and has allowed me to talk to many different people.
Doing all of these events, I have learned that mistakes will happen, but you have to try again. I have met some of my closest friends from these sports and activities and made countless memories I will never forget.
Some memories include walking into the main office to see my aunt Terri West every day. She was always excited to see me, and always had a smile on her face. Some of my best conversations at school were with her or with the bowling team, who always had something interesting to say, and making it to state for bowling as a senior, I had never thought I would end up on the bowling team or at state.
After high school, I plan on attending WSU Tech and studying Culinary Arts. Thank you Augusta High School for helping me become the person I am today, the countless memories and lifelong friendships.
