Seniors celebrate graduation
As graduation moves closer, seniors make plans for one of the biggest traditions of the school year: senior grad parties. Students prepare to celebrate the end of high school and the beginning of a new chapter in their lives.
For most seniors, grad parties are more than just a get-together. The parties are a chance to look back on memories made throughout high school and spend time with the people who supported them along the way.
“It honestly doesn’t feel real yet,” senior Raegan Stillwell said. “I’ve been looking forward to graduation forever, but now that it’s actually here, it’s kind of sad too because we’re all about to go separate ways.”
Stillwell wanted her party to be held at Sugar Shane’s Cafe.
“I just want people to come and have a good time,” Stillwell said. “I want it to be a big party with everybody before summer starts, and I don’t see them as much as I do now.”
Graduation season can bring a mix of emotions for students as they prepare for college, jobs or other future plans. Even with the stress that comes with senior year, students try to enjoy these final moments together.
Senior Mason Daniel said grad parties help seniors appreciate how far they have come.
“You don’t really realize how fast high school went until graduation is right in front of you,” Daniel said. “The parties are fun, but they also make you think about all the memories you made here.”
With graduation Sunday, May 17, seniors continue making plans for celebrations that will likely become some of their final high school memories.
