Bowling teams begin new season
The girls JV and varsity bowling teams have a won four out of five meets while the boys varsity team have won two of five meets and JV team has only won one meet so far this season.
“We don’t score as high, but we will,” head bowling coach Kellee Roberts said.
It is early in the season, but many members of the bowling team are confident the team and their personal scores will improve throughout the season.
“It’s very competitive because we are all trying to work up to varsity,” Meagan Miller (10) said.
Miller, although already a varsity bowler, works hard to maintain her spot on varsity.
“I have more boys and girls this season, especially freshmen and sophomores,” Roberts said.
With a bigger team than last year, it creates a competitive atmosphere for many of the team’s newcomers.
“We cheer each other on,” Miller said.
No matter how high the tension rises on the team, they always remember to cheer each other on.
Their next meet is Feb. 8 at McPherson they begin bowling at 3:30 p.m.
