Quinn Slaughter, Reporter
Sophomore Quinn Slaughter works hard for what he wants. When it comes to school plays, he does his best to secure the best role.
“I want to get some pretty important stories, like the musical and play,” Slaughter said.
Slaughter, a first-year reporter, found himself on staff after watching senior Martin Epperson, Jr. take pictures for his stories.
“I saw how much fun Martin Epperson had with it,” Slaughter said. “I thought it’d be pretty fun to join as well.”
After graduating from high school, he plans to attend Butler Community College for a degree in music to become a music teacher.
“Choir teacher Nick Franssen is a very nice guy,” Slaughter said. “His way of teaching just inspired me to want to do music as a career.”
Slaughter participates in the choir and different plays throughout the year.
As the year starts up, Slaughter enjoys being on staff and has high hopes for the year.
“It is going really well,” Slaughter said. “I really enjoy talking to Martin and junior Mason Pringle.”
