Harley Williams

Harley Williams, Reporter

“My first semester of junior year, I was in 21st Century journalism, and I really enjoyed it,” senior Harley Williams said. “I had talked to Barker quite a bit about it, and she put me in the newspaper class for the second semester.”

Switching was a good idea for Williams.

“I really enjoy newspaper, so I’m glad that I made the switch,” Williams said.

Williams, a reporter for the Oriole newspaper for two years, enjoys multiple hobbies. She plays third base drum in the marching band.

“Some of the things I like outside of school are reading and practicing my drum line music,” Williams said. “I also enjoy drawing, and I listen to a lot of music.”

Williams loves her cat named Pudding, but the cat is more often called Pud. Williams takes care of many cats, including Pud.

“We also have some outdoor cats. They’re sort of like stray cats, but me and my dad feed them, mostly because I feel bad for them.” Williams said.

Much like her cats, Williams helps care for her younger brother.

“I have a baby brother,” Williams said. “His name is Luca, and he was born in October of last year, so he’s close to being one year old.”

After high school, Williams plans to major in psychology.

“I plan on going to Butler Community College,” Williams said. “Majoring in psychology opens up a lot of career options.”
