Sophomore Alyssa Jordan is new to the newspaper staff, and she is a first-year reporter.

“I just heard from people who told me they thought I would like it, that it was a cool class,” Jordan said. “I thought it would be fun.”

Jordan is a musically-inclined student who recently joined concert choir and plays alto saxophone in the marching and concert bands. Outside of school, she experiments with different instruments. 

“My hobbies are playing the acoustic guitar, and I want to learn the electric guitar,” Jordan said. 

Two years ago, Jordan started lessons from a family friend. Since she already knows acoustic, it eases the learning. Along with that outside activity, she was involved in the art club in the past years.

“I do not know if the art club is doing anything this year, but I have been in the club,” Jordan said. 

Jordan paints in her free time. Jordan participated in ‘The Addams Family’ [musical] and the play ‘Wizards and Wands’. 

“I was on chorus in ‘The Addams Family’ musical,” Jordan said. “I was on the set crew for the play.”

Jordan keeps herself busy with these activities inside and outside of school.
