The community approved a $55 million bond issue for school improvement across USD 402.
Passing the bond May 6, 1,174 members of Augusta voted yes, more than doubling the no votes, with only 571.
“On behalf of USD 402, I want to extend our sincere thanks to the voters of Augusta for your support of the bond issue,” superintendent Matt Ward said in an email to the community. “This moment marks an exciting new chapter for Augusta Public Schools and our entire community.”
The election results are not official until the voter canvass, set for 5 p.m. Thursday, May 8, at the Butler County Election Office.
