As a drumline member, junior Kayden Nield enjoys performing with friends. He also enjoys having free time during practice to mess around with fellow drumline members.
“You get a lot of free time to do a lot of stuff,” Nield said. “We have practices every Monday, and we just mess around and learn stuff, and it’s fun to bang on a drum.”
After being born in Wichita, Nield spent his time growing up playing video games and riding his bike.
“I rode around on my bike. I did a bunch of stuff, like got in trouble,” Nield said. “As a kid, I just played ‘Skylanders’ a lot. Now I just work and hang out with my girlfriend.”
Being involved in the soccer team, Nield has a lot to do, but he also likes to have some downtime.
“I play soccer, and that’s it; I don’t want to do any other sports,” Nield said. “I like to have a lot more time on my hands, and I can’t do as much work whenever I have a sport to play.”
Nield is sceptical about the future of the soccer team.
“It’s kind of gone downhill a little bit, but I hope with a new coach and some new players it could get better,” Nield said. “It’s gonna be difficult, but we can figure it out.”
Over Easter break, Nield traveled to England and Scotland and returned home April 29.
“I was visiting family over Easter,” Nield said. “I got to see London and Edinburgh, and I got to see all my family.”
