Pop music is huge and takes up a large chunk of playtime on the radio and TV, causing tons of good music to go unnoticed and ignored. These three artists deserve more attention.
The first artist is Yussef Dayes. Dayes is a drummer from the U.K. who thrives in his quick and groovy songs. He makes jazz-fusion music with some rap songs as well. What I love most about him is his live albums. Dayes loves going out to scenic locations and playing songs with fellow musicians. He records these sessions and releases them as albums and posts the videos on YouTube. More people need to listen to jazz, and Dayes is a great artist for that.
2hollis is the second artist. He makes rap/EDM music that is absolutely electric. The production on his tracks is extremely fleshed out and crisp. 2hollis has been making music for a couple of years, and rumor has it that he produced for Playboi Carti’s new album “Music.” He recently released a new album and just performed at Coachella for the first time. He is on the come-up right now, and Now is the time to catch the early wave.
The final artist is Bladee. Bladee has been in the music industry for a while. He started gaining notoriety in 2013 with his unique and interesting rap songs. Bladee grew up in Stockholm, Sweden far away from the growing cloud rap scene in the United States and was forced to reinvent rap for himself. His rap style is different from the rap that we currently see. He uses melodic singing mixed with quiet vocals that make the songs flow. For those looking for an experimental rap artist who is unique from the crowd, then Bladee is a great pick.
